Hello, world! A New Adventure…

Over the years I have written a lot of blog posts. Then in June of this year the ideas just stopped coming to me. I felt like Forrest Gump – I was running and running and running and then one day, I just stopped.

Recently I was going through the hoops steps to be an Amazon Affiliate. I was denied because I don’t post regularly to my blog.

Ouch!

I currently manage a ton of client work related to Infusionsoft which has made it nearly impossible for a brand new client to come on board and work with me for email marketing consulting. That’s great in all of the practical (predictable revenue!) ways but as a business owner and a creative it’s made it challenging in other ways. I can teach people how to use Infusionsoft, for example, with my eyes closed. I literally have directed people around the software without being able to see it when GoToWebinar has not cooperated. That’s amazing news for people who receive Infusionsoft training and support from me, but it leaves me looking for a challenge to keep the ‘ol brain stretching and growing.

A few weeks ago I enrolled in Intro To Programming at Udacity. I arrived at this particular class by way of…a Google search, of course! How else does one choose their next adventure these days? I sort of, very barely, can read and edit code, but to write code from scratch is a whole new challenge for me.

Perfect!

So this post is meant to pivot the blog a bit. I doubt I will be coming up with email marketing topics anymore because I feel like I have said all I can on the subject. I am not closing up my marketing consulting business because, frankly, I have worked WAY too hard building it to where it is today to just not do it anymore. So current clients need not worry. Also, there was a time when I was one of the only marketing consultants sharing how to this and that with Infusionsoft and other online tools. That’s not the case anymore. There are plenty of people in the marketplace sharing their advice now – keep doing those Google searches and you will find what you need!

What will you be doing here now, you ask?

I’m going to share the highs and lows on my new challenge of learning how to code!

This might not sound very interesting to you and if so, no worries! But people who read blogs like mine usually are pretty interested in figuring out how things work (and why they don’t) and you just might be wondering if I am going to actually figure out how to code. I have no idea, to be honest with you. But I have a sneaky feeling I will, and I also have a sneaky feeling there are going to be some pretty funny stories along the way.

So there you have it. That’s what I’m up to and where this blog is headed. I hope you will join me on this new adventure!
