I have found that in business there are two distinct mindsets:
How can I help me? People with this mindset are racing to the finish line and they really, really want to make sure they are first when they get there.
How can I help you? People with this mindset don’t see the race to the top as a race at all. They know they will get there, and they are interested in helping other people get there too.
There is no right or wrong mindset – though we usually are drawn to people in one category or the other because the energy between the two styles is very, very different. Not wrong – different.
Give to get or Take to get – Which category do you fall into? Hint: If you we not even aware that there were such categories, you are probably in the latter.
