Just returning from a weekend out of town, it’s fresh in my mind that more often than not, when people ask what I’m up to and subsequently learn that I am an Infusionsoft Certified Consultant they either give me a look or literally say: “You do what?”
This begs the question that many people love to ask:
What is Infusionsoft?

Infusionsoft is a marketing automation software.
Infusionsoft is also a suite of software functions.
Let’s break both of these things down…
Marketing Automation Software
Automation, by definition is: The technique of making an apparatus, a process, or a system operate automatically. In marketing this means coming up with a plan for how your business will engage with prospects (before they buy), clients/customers (while and after they buy), and referral sources. The key is to have a plan that results in your business being top of mind for consumers when they need what you offer.
The ONLY way to stay front of mind in this busy world we live in is by consistently staying in touch. And the ONLY way to consistently stay in touch is by planning, creating copy/collateral and sharing it with your target market by way of a process or system.
Infusionsoft is software that can facilitate that process for you.
Suite of Software Functions
Infusionsoft is most commonly known as an email marketing software. Meaning: You can send out marketing emails such as online newsletters using this software and be in compliance of CAN-SPAM rules. Note: You can never, ever blast emails out of your personal email account. Did I mention your can NEVER do that?
Infusionsoft IS an email marketing software solution. A very good solution too (Deliverability rate: through-the-roof good.). But Infusionsoft is also A LOT more than an email marketing software.
- You can plan and automate work flow using all areas of the software. I map work flow for clients in the Campaign Builder section of the software and then use all areas of the software to actually make that work flow map come to life and actually AUTOMATE WORK FLOW.
- You can collect money online using your Infusionsoft application. There is full shopping cart finctionality in this software. You still have to integrate a merchant account to make it work, but that’s standard practice in making a shopping cart work. Imagine someone buying from you and all of the purchase details come in to your marketing automation software?
- You can also manage the sales process in your business using the CRM piece of Infusionsoft. Come up with a system for our sales process, set up your Infusionsoft app to manage the process and your sales team (even if that’s only YOU) have a road map to consistently process every lead that comes your way.
Infusionsoft is a complete SOLUTION to the marketing needs of small-medium size businesses.
